Eastspring Investments wins six awards and is named 2014 Best Asset Management House by Asia Asset Management Magazine

Eastspring Investments, the Asia asset management arm of British financial services giant Prudential plc, received six awards in Asia Asset Management's annual Best of the Best Awards. In addition, Eastspring’s India joint venture, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Company clinched two awards.

Eastspring Investments (Singapore) Limited, a unit of Eastspring Investments, manages Pru Life UK’s underlying funds since it pioneered unit-linked or investment-linked life insurance in the Philippines in 2002.

Now in its 12th year, the Asia Asset Management Best of the Best Awards recognise the most outstanding players in the fund management industry in Asia. The awards are divided into three categories – Regional, Performance and Country.

The Regional Award for Best Asset Management House in Asia recognises Eastspring’s overall contribution to asset management and investing. The firm has built robust capabilities over the long-term and focuses on its people, infrastructure, and processes to ensure it remains a trusted advisor across the 11 Asia markets in which the firm operates. Eastspring is one of Asia’s largest asset managers with close to US$118 billion in assets under management as at 30 September 2014.

In the other Regional categories, Eastspring was awarded Asian Bond House of the Year in acknowledgement of the scope of its coverage, strong fund performance, and rigorous investment process. Eastspring’s Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income, Ooi Boon Peng, received the CIO of the Year Award for his significant achievements and strong team leadership.

In the Performance category, Eastspring gained recognition in the Japanese Equity category, over three years.

“These awards are a great acknowledgement of the strength of many areas of our business. They reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence in investment performance and the importance we place on building and maintaining the trust of our clients,” said Guy Strapp, Eastspring Investments Chief Executive.

“The strength of our fund manager Eastspring Investments (Singapore) Limited underscores the strength of our PruLink product portfolio, which we pioneered in 2002 and made us one of the leading providers of unit-linked products in the Philippines,” said Pru Life UK President and CEO Antonio De Rosas as he extended his congratulations to Eastspring.

“Through the excellent management of our Group’s Asia Asset Manager, we are able to provide Filipinos access to a superior selection of investment funds that would allow them to potentially grow the premiums they invest,” he added.
