Pru Life UK, Cha-Ching broaden financial literacy reach in 2015 with new partners, two-day world tour

British life insurer Pru Life UK welcomed the new year with an expanded partner school roster for its landmark Cha-Ching Financial Literacy for the Youth Program as Mary Help of Christians School in Canlubang, Laguna has signed on to integrate Cha-Ching lessons in its grades 2 and 3 curricula for the academic year 2015-2016 – rounding up Cha-Ching’s partner school count to 55.

In addition, the Galileo Enrichment Learning Program, Inc. has also adopted Cha-Ching for its 2015 summer program offerings. Cha-Ching will be taught in all 31 Galileo centers across the country as an added-value program for students aged seven to 12 enrolled in its Math, English, or Singapore Math programs. Galileo is the first enrichment learning program partner of Cha-Ching.

Cha-Ching also jumpstarted 2015 with a two-day Cha-Ching World Tour at partner school Xavier School in San Juan. Over 900 students from grades 1, 2, and 3 actively participated in discussions and games, which further instilled in them the money-smart values of earning, saving, smart spending, and donating in a fun and engaging environment. The Cha-Ching World Tour is an interactive learning school event that allows kids to have direct and supervised exposure to the Cha-Ching musical edutainment program and its non-TV platforms.

Cha-Ching is the first multi-country, multi-platform program that aims to help parents in Asia build money-smart values for children aged seven to 12 through introducing four money smarts – earn, save, spend, and donate. It was launched in Hong Kong in 2011 by Prudential Corporation Asia, the regional headquarters of Pru Life UK.

The Philippines became the first country to integrate Cha-Ching in the grade school curriculum following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Education (DepEd) in April 2012 for the integration of the Cha-Ching Financial Literacy for the Youth Program in the grade 2 curriculum.

Piloting in Upper Bicutan Elementary School in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Tagaytay Central School in the Southern Tagalog Region for academic year 2012-2013 through DepEd’s Adopt-A-School program, the implementation has expanded its coverage to a total of 30 public schools in NCR, Northern and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao for academic year 2014-2015. Cha-Ching is likewise concurrently being integrated in the syllabi of 25 partner private educational institutions.
