Leading insurer Pru Life UK earned an international Gold Quill for its 2019 Prudential RideLondon media campaign, a recognition bestowed by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). The award was presented at IABC’s Virtual World Conference held in the United States on June 14-17, 2020.
Pru Life UK received the 2020 Gold Quill Award of Merit in the Programs Category – Media Relations, and was among the four winning entries from the Philippines this year.
The award-winning campaign revolved around Prudential RideLondon, the world’s largest cycling festival sponsored by Pru Life UK’s parent company Prudential plc, in which the Philippine media and cyclists were actively engaged during the two-day cycling event on August 3-4, 2019. The campaign generated significant publicity and media coverage, as well as reinforced the Company’s brand awareness and commitment to helping consumers lead healthier lives.
Pru Life UK was recognized for its innovative plan and tactical approach that was thoughtfully executed to meet its business needs and objectives. The campaign was also lauded for achieving impressive return on investments, coupled with strong participations and sustained publicity prior to and throughout the event.
Earlier this year, Pru Life UK also received the Silver Quill from the IABC Asia Pacific for its 2018 Prudential RideLondon media relations campaign.
For more than 40 years, IABC’s Gold Quill Awards have recognized and awarded excellence in strategic communication worldwide. The awards program is recognized as one of the most prestigious in the communication profession. This year, the awards committee received over 550 entries from public and private organizations across a wide range of sectors in 12 countries. More than 250 judges reviewed and selected 201 world-class entries, among which 81 received an Award of Excellence and 120 received an Award of Merit.
