With cancer as one of the leading causes of death in the Philippines1and a diagnosis often placing serious financial pressure on families, Pru Life UK today introduced PRUCare Cancer Protect, a 10-year renewable term insurance plan designed to make cancer protection more accessible and help Filipinos prepare for its financial impact.
 

PRUCare Cancer Protect offers comprehensive financial support by covering both early-stage and late-stage cancer, with up to 100 per cent of the sum assured for eligible late-stage cancer claims and 50 per cent for an eligible early-stage cancer claim. If an early-stage cancer benefit has been claimed, this amount shall be deducted from the late-stage cancer benefit claim. PRUCare Cancer Protect responds to a pressing reality: studies show that more than 40 per cent of Filipino families affected by cancer experience financial hardship during treatment, with many forced to discontinue care. Today, cancer remains among the country’s top three causes of death2, with around 150,000 to 190,000 new cancer cases recorded annually, where many patients are diagnosed at later stages when treatment is more complex and costly.

Attendees were given a complimentary Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) risk assessment with partner The Medical City, designed to identify potential risks for chronic conditions including cancer through interview-based screening.
