In line with its commitment to advocate safe cycling, British life insurer Pru Life UK sends off seasoned cyclists Marella Salamat and George Oconer who are set to train for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games happening in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August.
Multi-sport athlete Salamat, who won a gold medal in the 2015 Singapore SEA Games, is set to defend her crown in the 30-kilometer Individual Time Trial event. She will lead the three-member women's Road team. Oconer, multi-awarded Go for Gold squad member and the son of two-time Olympian Norberto Oconer, will join the men's team.
Both Salamat and Oconer clinched the top grand prizes of the Road Bike Male and Female Open categories of PRUride to London, the first ever criterium race at the McKinley West in Taguig City.
PRUride to London is part of the celebration of Pru Life UK’s 20th anniversary in the Philippines.
