Students from the General Tinio National High School in Nueva Ecija joined the roll-out of Levela organised by Pru Life UK and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Nueva Ecija Field Office
Pru Life UK introduced Levela, Prudence Foundation’s new digital-first financial education platform for young adults, through its first community rollout during a youth development event organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Nueva Ecija Field Office at General Tinio National High School in Nueva Ecija.
The activity reached close to 240 senior high school students from families enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino (4Ps), a government initiative that provides conditional cash transfers to low-income households.
Facilitated by JA Philippines, Pru Life UK’s implementation partner for Levela, with support from employee volunteers, the session introduced students aged 16 to 18 to essential money concepts.
Through interactive activities, students connected their personal aspirations with practical money management skills. Using the “My Dream House” exercise, they identified the goals and motivations that could help turn their dreams into reality, before created personal financial roadmaps outlining how they could save towards a goal and take their first step. Students also took part in an Insurance 101 discussion led by Citrine Prime Branch Manager Pauline Sicat and agents from the branch.
At Prudence Foundation, building resilient communities is at the heart of what we do,” said Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director of Prudence Foundation. “Levela is the extension of our award-winning Cha-Ching financial literacy programme, allowing us to provide knowledge and tools to a new generation of young adults so they can develop better money skills and grow their financial confidence. We’re delighted to roll out Levela to students in the Nueva Ecija community, continuing our decade-long commitment to financial literacy and inclusion in the Philippines.”
Available through web and mobile platforms, Levela is a free financial education platform designed to help young adults develop smart money habits, strengthen financial resilience, and make informed financial decisions. It offers clear, easy-to-understand lessons on budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance, financial planning and fraud prevention.
Levela builds on the success of Prudence Foundation’s flagship financial literacy programme, Cha-Ching, which has helped millions of children across Asia and Africa develop foundational money management skills over the past decade.
"Building financial confidence starts with education. By helping students understand basic financial concepts early in life and introducing them to Levela, we are providing them with tools and resources that can support smarter financial decisions today and in the years ahead," shared Maricel Estavillo, Vice President for Sustainability and Takaful Head at Pru Life UK.
The Nueva Ecija community rollout of Levela reflects the shared commitment of DSWD and Pru Life UK to help young Filipinos develop the knowledge and skills needed to make better financial decisions. Pru Life UK will continue working with government, schools and community partners to bring relevant financial learning closer to more Filipino families, making their promises to their loved ones more attainable by equipping them with the knowledge and tools they can count on to build a more secure future.
