Terms & Conditions

As we do more for customers, Pru Life UK shows appreciation to eligible policyowners by providing a FREE PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases Coverage as part of its Give Back Campaign. This is part of Pru Life UK’s effort of making life insurance simple and accessible to people who value their health and their families.

Definitions:

  1. "Pulse Member” means a person who has downloaded the Pulse app and completed the registration process
  2. Campaign Period” is from 24 October to 23 November 2021 or until twenty-five thousand (25,000) PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases Insurance have been issued, whichever comes first.
  3. "Free Product Offer” refers to the PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases Insurance with the following benefits for a period of 12 months from the date of availment:

  4. "Covered Person” or “Life Assured” shall mean a Pulse Member who meets the eligibility requirements of the Free Product Offer and has availed himself/herself of the Free Product Offer.
  5. "Death Benefit due to Dengue, Measles, Malaria, or Typhoid” is the lump sum amount of Php 50,000 given to the beneficiary/ies of the Covered Person if the immediate cause of death is due to Dengue, Measles, Malaria, or Typhoid.
  6. "Diagnosis Benefit due to Dengue, Measles, Malaria, or Typhoid” is the lump sum amount of Php 5,000 given to the Covered Person if was diagnosed of Dengue, Measles, Malaria, or Typhoid.
  7. "Dengue” refers to an acute infectious disease caused by a flavivirus and transmitted by Aedes mosquitos. This is characterized by high fever, headache severe muscle and joint pain, and a rash.
  8. "Typhoid” refers to an infection caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi. It is usually spread through contaminated food or water. Symptoms include prolonged high fever, fatigue, headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and constipation or diarrhea.
  9. "Measles” refers to a disease caused by a virus in the paramyxovirus family. It is normally spread through direct contact and through the air. Initial symptoms, which usually appear 10-12 days after infection, include high fever, a runny nose, bloodshot eyes, tiny white spots on the inside of the mouth, and macular lesions.
  10. "Malaria” refers to a disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It is an acute febrile illness where the first symptoms are fever, headache, and chills.
  11. "Coverage Period” shall mean the coverage period which is stated in the Policy Benefits Page. It starts the day that the application for the Free Product Offer is completed and runs for 12 months.
  12. "Coverage Start Date” shall mean the start date of the Coverage period.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a Pulse Member and at least 18 to 59 years old.
  2. Must be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines at the time of application.
  3. Must be in good health, must not have signs and symptoms related to Dengue, Typhoid, Malaria, or Measles and must not have been diagnosed with Dengue, Typhoid, Malaria, or Measles at the time of application.
  4. Must have an existing in-force Pru Life UK policy during the Campaign Period that is Regular
    Paying, Limited Pay, or Single Pay and is not classified as Term Insurance, and where the
    Policyowner is the same as the Insured.
  5. Must not have any in-force PRUShoppe policy (i.e. Free PA-ADD with COVID-19 and COVID-19
    Vaccine Protection, PRUShield, PRUWellness, etc.) during the campaign period.

 

Mechanics:

  1. Campaign Period is from October 24, 2021 to November 23, 2021.
  2. FREE PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases is good for 12 months from the Coverage Start
    Date.
  3. Only the following Pulse Members who have met the requirements are qualified:
    • Must have an existing in-force Pru Life UK policy that is not classified under Term
      Insurance.
    • The Policyowner must also be the Life Assured.
    • Must not have any in-force policy availed of in PRUShoppe upon availment of the Free
      Product Offer (i.e. Free PA-ADD with COVID-19 and COVID-19 Vaccine Protection,
      PRUShield, PRUWellness, etc.).
    • Must have completed the application process for the Free PRUMedCare – Select Infectious
      Diseases product.
  4. Must have a registered mobile number or e-mail address.
  5. Products that have expiring coverage usually after 6- or 12-months from availment (commonly
    known as term products), and products that were purchased through business accounts or
    partnerships are not included in this campaign.
  6. A Pulse Member can only avail of this free Product Offer once. In case multiple policies are
    erroneously issued, only the earliest policy issued shall take effect.
  7. The Life Assured or his or her beneficiary/ies can no longer claim any other benefits of the Free
    Product Offer if the Death Benefit in connection with this Free Product Offer has already been
    claimed.

 

Customers can claim their free protection plan in 5 EASY steps:

  1. Check the email with their offer and click on their own unique link.
  2. Register their information to avail of the offer.
  3. Check for their voucher by visiting MyRewards, or tap the  icon.
  4. Visit PRUShoppe and tap the “Explore More” banner.
  5. Customer should select the PRUMedCare – Select Infectious Diseases tile and select the Basic Package. Use their voucher upon checkout to get the protection plan for free.

 

Exclusions:

  1. Diagnosis Benefit
    • The lump sum benefit will not be paid if the Life Assured is diagnosed with any of the Covered Infectious Disease (Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria), or if the signs and symptoms or first consultation with a Physician related to Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria occurred prior to the Coverage Start Date or within the Waiting Period.
  2. Death Benefit
    • The lump sum benefit will not be paid to the beneficiary/ies of the Life Assured if:
      • The cause of death of the Life Assured was Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria, but the signs and symptoms, diagnosis, or first consultation with a Physician related to Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria occurred prior to the Coverage Start Date or within the Waiting Period; or
      • If the Life Assured dies beyond fourteen (14) days from the date of diagnosis of Dengue, Typhoid, Measles or Malari

 

Rescission:

We will rescind the Policy if we discover that: 

  1. The Life Assured does not meet any of the eligibility conditions; 
  2. If the Life Assured is already insured with an existing coverage for any Covered Infectious Disease, as shown in the Policy Benefits Page, offered by Pru Life UK; or
  3. Subject to the incontestability clause in the policy contract, the Life Assured committed fraud,
    concealment, or material misrepresentation in relation to the Policy.

 

Assigning your beneficiaries:

  1. It is important to name your beneficiaries to ensure that the proceeds of your plan go to the persons you intended.
  2. The nominated beneficiaries are set by default as primary and revocable with equal sharing. If you want to change the designation of any or all of your beneficiaries to irrevocable or change the percentage of sharing, you may send your request to our Contact Center (contact.us@prulifeuk.com.ph).
  3. The Diagnosis Benefit for diagnosis of Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria shall be paid to the Life Assured, if alive, otherwise to the Policyowner named in the Policy Info Page, provided the
    Policyowner survives the Life Assured; otherwise, to the person or persons then surviving the Life Assured in the following order of precedence, in equal shares:
    • Legal Spouse;
    • Children;
    • Parent/s;
    • Sibling/s; or
    • Life Assured's Estates
  4. The Death Benefit for death due to Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria shall be paid to the
    Beneficiary/ies named in the Designated Beneficiary Page provided such Beneficiaries are not
    legally disqualified and survive the Life Assured; otherwise, to the Policyowner named in the Policy Info Page, provided the Policyowner survives the Life Assured; otherwise, to the person or persons then surviving the Life Assured in the following order of preference, in equal shares:
    • Legal Spouse;
    • Children;
    • Parent/s;
    • Sibling/s; or
    • Life Assured’s Estate

 

Waiting Period:

The Waiting Period is the period of fourteen (14) days after the Coverage Start Date which must pass before Dengue or any of the Covered Infectious Diseases become covered under the Policy. During the Waiting Period, the Life Assured must not have any signs and symptoms of, been diagnosed with or had his/her first consultation with a Physician in relation to Dengue, Typhoid, Measles, or Malaria.

 

Other things to Remember:

  1. No new product purchase is required to avail of this offer. 
  2. As this is a free product offer, any references to refund of premium paid in the Free Look, Cancellation and Rescission, and Short Period Rate Scale provisions of the PRUMedCare - Select Infectious Policy Contract is understood and agreed to not apply to this product offer.
