Pru Life UK celebrates health and fitness at Prudential RideLondon

For the fifth year, Pru Life UK sent a delegation to the Prudential RideLondon, the world’s largest cycling festival. PRURide PH ambassadors also joined the group.

A growing number of Filipinos are becoming health-conscious these days. Related various lifestyle choices are on the rise including veganism, non-traditional fitness centers, organic community markets, and pop-up meditation classes among others. These trends can be attributed to organizations, celebrities, advocates, and regulators that promote healthy living.

British life insurance company Pru Life UK encourages the same consciousness by celebrating health and fitness on August 3 and 4 in Prudential RideLondon, the world’s largest cycling festival. The company has made strides in its advocacy of promoting cycling as a healthy and sustainable mode of transportation. This commitment reflects what its parent company, Prudential plc, has been upholding through the global event.

For the fifth year, Pru Life UK sent a delegation to the Prudential RideLondon, the world’s largest cycling festival, as part of the Company’s advocacy to promote healthy living through cycling. This year, it brought PRURide PH 2019 ambassadors Gretchen Ho, Kim Atienza, and Zoren Legaspi to join 100,000 participants ride collectively more than three million miles in different events for all ages and abilities.

Atienza and Legaspi joined Surrey 100, a 100-mile challenge with the added incentive of raising money for charity. Meanwhile, Ho cycled at the Surrey 46, a 46-mile ride designed for newer and younger cyclists. PRULifers Ryan Benguelo and Nelsi Rabe were also at the event to join the Prudential Peloton Team. 

“We are proud to have a strong contingent of cyclists at this year’s Prudential RideLondon. Their participation in an event of this magnitude shows that we are committed to our We DO Health campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle. We want to show that being active can also be fun, exciting, and easy,” says Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Marketing Officer Allan Tumbaga.

The festival is one of the most anticipated in the field of cycling because of its inclusive nature, welcoming everyone from families to amateurs, professionals, and even those with disabilities.  

“Through this important celebration, we hope to inspire more Filipinos to get active by getting on a bicycle,” adds Tumbaga. 

In relation to active lifestyle, interest in the sport has grown in the Philippines. Earlier this year, the insurer bolstered its fitness initiative with PRURide PH 2019. Over 2,500 cyclists from across Asia joined the country’s largest festival of its kind, including hobbyists, beginners, and racers.
