Pru Life UK Reprises PRuride PH, Registration Now Open

PRURIde PH has multiple categories for every cyclist level.

Following the success of PRUride to London 2016, Pru Life UK will bring back PRUride PH 2018, which is set to gather the strongest and most competitive cyclists in the country on the weekend of January 11 to 14, 2018 at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales, and on January 21 at McKinley West, Taguig.

Pru Life UK conducted the first installment of the cycling festival in November 2016 in Taguig to celebrate the Company’s 20th anniversary and highlight its commitment to promote responsible and safe cycling.

However, PRUride PH 2018 is geared to be bigger and more ambitious than the first installment. An expected number of 5,000 cyclists will participate in a line-up of 29 racing activities over the two-weekend festivities. On top of the cash prizes for the winners, six participants will be awarded with an all-expense-paid trip to London.

Likewise, as a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)-accredited (class B) event, PRUride PH 2018 will feature the prestigious Philippine Road Bike Championships, which will be a platform for athletes aspiring to be in the national cycling team to show off their competence. It will also take UCI license holders and elite professionals – both local and regional teams and individuals from South East Asia – to a 100-mile (160-kilometer) course, leading them to the historic peak of Mount Samat in the town of Pilar, Province of Bataan.

The event also welcomes the participation of amateur and age-group cyclists. Among the events lined up for them are the Individual Time Trial, Amateur Time Trial, and the 100-kilometer Gran Fondo – all to be held in Subic, and a repeat of the 2016 Criterium races in Taguig. Families and kids of all ages will also enjoy the bike community days in both locations.

And similar to Prudential RideLondon – the largest cycling festival in the world hosted annually by Pru Life UK’s parent company, British financial services giant Prudential plc – PRUride PH 2018 will also bring in the exciting Brompton Challenge along with its three events which will bring delight not only to the riders but also to the spectators: the Beer Lap Challenge, the Slowest Lap Challenge, and the Brompton Criterium, wherein participants will be wearing a formal top – barong tagalog, Filipiniana, or suit with bow tie.
