Prudence Foundation named ‘Partner of the Year’ by Save the Children

Prudence Foundation – the community investment arm of Pru Life UK’s parent company, Prudential Corporation Asia – was named Partner of the Year by Save the Children Philippines during the Corporate Partners’ Day held April 25 at the Asian Institute of Management.

With the theme “Stronger Together for Children,” the event recognized the invaluable contribution of corporate partners and encouraged further support for initiatives that invest in the future of Filipino children.

Prudence Foundation was cited by Save the Children for its Safe Schools program, which was rolled out in the Philippines in 2015 to help address children’s resiliency to natural disasters. By ensuring that schools have safe learning facilities, disaster management procedures, and proper risk reduction knowledge, children and communities in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam are better prepared to mitigate the risks and impacts of future disasters.

Prudential plc also received recently the award for Outstanding Support of Children in Emergencies and was nominated for Transformational Partnership Driving Impact for Children during the Save the Children Partnership Awards held in London. During the event, the organization recognized the achievements of leading partnerships that played a crucial role in changing children’s lives.

Pru Life UK, through Prudence Foundation, has been supporting various community engagement initiatives across the country since its establishment in the Philippines. In 1996, the Insurance Commission granted the British subsidiary the license to operate and sell life insurance products in the country. Since then, Pru Life UK has expanded its reach to over 100 branches in the Philippines, with the biggest life agency force of almost 20,000 licensed agents, and has emerged as one of the top five life insurers. Pru Life UK is headquartered in Uptown Bonifacio, Taguig City.
