Pru Life UK backs the highly anticipated return of Run BGC after 13 years

underscores commitment to active living and youth empowerment

Pru Life UK has championed the much-awaited comeback of Run BGC, returning for its second edition on 14 December after a 13-year hiatus. The event has taken over the vibrant streets of Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig, where its inaugural run was first held.

As a gold sponsor and the sole life insurer partner, Pru Life UK rallied thousands of Filipinos in embracing an active and healthier lifestyle as part of its purpose-driven advocacy.

This year’s race also anchored on a powerful social mission: uplifting community youth through the Bayani Scholarship Programme of the Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, Inc. (FBDFI), the social responsibility arm of BGC. The initiative provides vital educational assistance to underserved young people in nearby communities reflecting how Filipinos can count on Pru Life UK as their ally in protection and empowerment.

“Run BGC is more than a celebration of fitness. It is a testament to Pru Life UK’s role as a partner in protection and health. Through the power of collective action, every stride promotes well-being and nurture a young scholar’s future. This embodies our commitment to elevate every life and every future,” said Pru Life UK Chief Customer & Marketing Officer Rozanne Magararu.

“Just as Pru Life UK offers a comprehensive suite of life protection and financial solutions, Run BGC champions inclusive growth by broadening the reach of events like this to involve the underserved sectors,” Magararu added.

“The comeback of Run BGC is a massive community effort, and we're very thankful for Pru Life UK's support. This fuels our mission and ensures that their support goes straight into sustainable funding for the FBDFI, including life-changing educational opportunities for our beloved Bayani Scholars,” shared FBDFI Managing Director Eli Yaneza.

The event drew over 6,600 runners, ranging from first-time participants to elite athletes. It featured four categories—1K dog run, 5K, 10K, and 16K which offered opportunities for all ages and fitness levels. With major running events rarely held within the estate, participants enjoyed a unique race experience along BGC’s flat, spacious, and picturesque route.

Participants were able to document their fun Run BGC moments through Pru Life UK’s Camera 360° experience and offered good vibes and motivation at the designated recharge zone.

Through initiatives like Run BGC, Pru Life UK continues to reinforce its dual commitment to health and financial well-being, championing communities to live better, move more, and take charge of their future.
