Pru Life UK introduces new General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer
Leading life insurer Pru Life UK announces the appointment of Gilbert Simpao as its General Manager and Chief Commercial Officer effective January 2022.
Simpao is spearheading the design and execution of Pru Life UK’s overall commercial and business development strategies for customer acquisition and revenue generation. He will also provide strategic input to the company’s overall business strategy.

Simpao will boost the insurer’s bid to continue leading the insurance field with his extensive experience and expertise in general management, marketing, sales and digital transformation. Prior to joining Pru Life UK, Simpao was the Chief Marketing and Client Experience Officer of Sun Life Philippines where he led the creation of successful campaigns to reach more customers. He also previously served at top companies in different industries such as fast-moving consumer goods, telecommunications, airlines and financial services.
Before shifting to insurance, Simpao worked as the Chief Commercial Officer and Regional Commercial Cluster Head for AirAsia in the Philippines, Taiwan and South Korea. He was also Unilever’s Managing Director for Personal Care and Globe Telecom’s Senior Vice President for Consumer Broadband Business.
Simpao earned his bachelor’s degree in applied economics and management of financial institutions from the De La Salle University.
