To contribute in the recovery efforts for children who experienced the devastation of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan), British insurer Pru Life UK, through its charitable arm, Prudence Foundation, provided young survivors with items from their flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, the Cha-Ching Financial Literacy for the Youth Program. This is in addition to the US$2 million pledge of the Prudence Foundation for the Typhoon Yolanda relief and rebuilding effort. The donated items included notebooks, pencils, coloring materials, workbooks and plush toys, and were distributed to the children rehabilitating at Booth 7 of the Villamor Air Base Survivor’s Processing Zone.

Booth 7 is designated as the play therapy area for all internally displaced children who land at the Villamor Air Base from Yolanda-stricken areas in the Visayas. The operation aims to erase the looks of marked fear and sadness on the faces of the kids simply by means of play. The booth was enabled by first responders from the University of the Philippines Sigma Alpha Nu sorority sisters and teachers from Galileo, Little Gym, and Miriam College.
